Bhumika Chawla started her career with ad films and music video albums. Her sweet smile and innocent looks won millions of hearts. She made her Bollywood debut with Satish Kaushik’s TERE NAAM opposite Salman Khan and since then there has been no looking back for Bhumika. Her homely look and performance won her many accolades. She also did movies like RUN and DIL NE JISE APNA KAHAA with established actors like Abhishek Bachchan and Salman Khan.

Though Bhumika’s last Hindi movie FAMILY-TIES OF BLOOD didn’t work well at the box office, her performance and potential as an actress were appreciated. After FAMILY, for the first time she will be seen in a periodic film titled GANDHI MY FATHER opposite Akshaye Khanna, which is all set to be released on Aug 3, 2007. The movie is based on Mahatma Gandhi’s troubled relationship with his son Harilal Gandhi (played by Akshaye Khanna). Bhumika is playing the character of Harilal’s wife Gulab Gandhi who is caught between her husband and father-in-law. She portrays the role of a wife who believes in her husband and cares for him but at the same time she also believes in her father-in-law Mahatma Gandhi and his principles. Let’s wait and watch Bhumika’s new bhumika in GANDHI MY FATHER.

Signature fragrance (perfume to fans) from Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty is in Bromley selling her new perfume to fans.

The Celebrity Big Brother star - at the centre of a race row with Jady Goody in this year’s show - will be at The Glades shopping centre from 10.30am.

She’ll be at The Perfume Shop selling her signature fragrance - called ‘S’.

A spokesman for the glamorous actress said: “She is one of the most approachable stars in the whole Indian film business and likes nothing better than a chance to meet with her fans and have a bit of a chat.”

The centre is preparing for hundreds of fans to be on hand to greet Shilpa.

The Glades shopping centre is an appropriate location for the launch as it was featured in a recent Bollywood movie “Namastey London” - which starred Shilpa’s ex-boyfriend Akshay Kumar.

The film released in March and now available on DVD proved a hit in the UK and India, bridging the divide between Bollywood and mainstream British cinema.

NEW DELHI: Still basking in the fame that has come her way following her win in the 'Big Brother' reality show, Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty has now entered the league of Hollywood stars Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton by launching her own perfume in the United Kingdom.

Shilpa has joined the likes of Kylie Minogue, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton by launching her own fragrance in the UK, her spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar said.

Launching her new perfume, named 'S2', in UK recently, Shilpa said the fragrance was a "cut above the rest" in the sea of celebrity fragrances.

''The perfume is truly unique because we have an amalgam of jasmine and citrus and it's a very strong ethnic aroma.,''

It is something that is very synonymous with me and jasmine is very common in India, it's very difficult to find abroad, but the scent of jasmine is very long lasting and if you like it, you love it,''Shilpa said.''

The new perfume will be marketed in the UK and the Gulf region by internationally acclaimed company 'Fraqrance and Beauty', which has also manufactured the fragrance.

Among Shilpa's future plans are a cookery book and a DVD on yoga.

''Shilpa is also set to write a cookery book, release a feature DVD on yoga to be shot in the Himalayas , and even launch a chain of restaurants abroad; starting with one in Central London,''the spokesperson added.
