NTR's Growing Beliefs On Bhakthi and Astrology

NTR's bhakti and belief on Astrology is growing day by day. Well, that came from his grand father as many would opine. That's true to some extent. NTR's mother Shalini is a Kannada Brahmin (many assume her wrong to be Muslim) who is keen on religious aspects.

So he took certain interests from mother as well. The recent Rahu-Ketu Puja in Kalahasti and taking steps as per Vaastu experts (he sold out his house in Jubilee Hills as per Vaastu advice) are the results of his beliefs due to brought up.

He is now busy with 'Yamadonga' and hopes are pinned on that in big way. NTR also changed his life style these days. He is waking up very early in the morning like is grand father unlike before. Regular work outs and keeping away from alcohol are his life style features now. That's how he can sustain his slim silhouette.

More about Sankar Dada Zindabad

Heroes Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan released the audio cassette and CD of Shankar Dada Zindabad today at Shilpakalavedika, Hitech City, Hyderabad. The event was attended by a big gathering of fans, invitees from the Telugu film industry; and cast and crew of the film unit. Aditya Music is marketing the Music. Devi Sri Prasad, music director of the SDZ, remained the centre of attraction, receiving immense appreciation from megastar Chiranjeevi.

The function was slated to start at 6:30 PM, but it all started a bit late. Shilpa Chakravarthy anchored the event. Of the seven songs, each of them was formally released by a noted personality among the gathering – with shouting the “Mantra” (as called by the anchor) – Shankar Dada Zindabad – Hoo.. Haa, Hoo.. Haa.

Allu Arjun, Karishma Kotak, Mamta Mohandas, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Ashwini Dutt, K. Raghavendra Rao, Prabhu Deva, Venu Madhav, K.L Narayana, MS Raju, Devivara Prasad, Srikanth (who plays ATM) and Allu Arvind did the job of number launchers. Guests included ML Kumar Chowdary, Jeevi, Ashok Kumar, Trivikram Srinivas, B.Gopal, SJ Surya.

Highlight of the event remained dance performance by Prabhu Deva, Devi Sri Prasad and Mamta Mohandas to the tunes of SDZ audio. On this occasion, Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan felicitated the blood donors associated with Chiranjeevi Eye and Blood Bank.

Pawan Kalyan said that he played a very short but memorable role in the film. “My dream of acting with Annayya came true after a wait of 18 years. You (fans) will see me as your model. This sequel will be even bigger hit than the first one (Shankardada MBBS)”, he added.

Venkatesh said: The audio will win double Vijayam. You are going to make the film a big hit. I feel happy to be a part of the celebration.

Srikanth said: The movie has all the elements of entertainment. Prabhu Deva took care to stuff it with comedy, sentiment and good songs.

Allu Arjun said: The song Good Morning Hyderabad will also mean Good Morning Andhra Pradesh.

Devi Sri Prasad (gasping – emerging fresh from stage performance) said: My liking for Megastar started with Gang Leader. I turned a mega fan of him. I was very passionate about Chikubuku Chikubuku Railey song. Today, I got to work with both of them. This film increased my love for Gandhism and I felt like watching Gandhi film once again. My special thanks to VN Aditya for a crucial introduction of a line in a lyric (meaning how love can make an illiterate a literate) and to sound engineer for his special attention for quality.

When it was Chiranjeevi's turn to talk, it led to a big hubbub with shouts of “Hoo.. Ha”. Chiranjeevi termed the phrase as the “Taraka Mantra of his fans”. “Wherever I go, I am welcomed with that Mantra. This supplies great energy to me. I am indebted to you all”. Chiranjeevi showered maximum praise on Devi Sri Prasad for his fantastic music. At this point Devi was seen coming to his idol and touching his feet. “All the songs are equally good in the album”, Chiru said.

On Pawan Kalyan: Pawan Kalyan came to the sets of the film. When he was asked to clear himself from the sets, he vied for a small role with me. It was given to him. Pawan’s happiness is limitless. It was more than the success of Toliprema. Pawan's role in this film is sweet. It will be like a good sweet after a full meals.

On Allu Arjun: Allu Arjun grew up with lot of discipline. I am amazed to see his dances. His performance made me feel … Yes. Mana Vaarasudu. When there was heavy shouting from the galleries – Chirutha.. Chirutha, Chiranjeevi responded “Sandarbam vacchinappudu thappakunda vasthadu. Idhi Naa Function.”

On Venkatesh: 'At a time when heroes were shy of attending audio functions of other heroes, Venkatesh is an eye-opener. His selfless nature makes him a role model for all. His presence here brings in a healthy tradition in Telugu film industry'. On this occasion, he hugged Venkatesh.

On Karishma Kotak: This girl is all fresh with fresh looks. Her performance adds a new flavor to the film.

On Mamta Mohandass: Mamta Mohandass is a beauty and beautiful voice personified. She is a very good singer. Her qualities make her a very rare combination. I look forward to act with her in my forthcoming movies also.

On GFC (the Producers): I am thankful to my producers. They went ahead with purchasing the Hindi rights at an abnormal price. They believed that we (me and my fans) will create wonder with that film. Their efforts will never go waste.

On Paruchuri Brothers: If I want to say about myself, it is like telling about Paruchuri Brothers. They shed their usual ferocious dialogues and took up soft pen for the sake of Mahatma Gandhi.

On Piracy: Finally, Chiranjeevi, appealed to the audience to buy only the original Cassettes and CDs. Some of the students are burning the CDs and supplying them to their near and dear. It will create guilt among them. Those who promote piracy are parasites.

Haranath Says Keeravani music, Krishna's performance are highlights for CHANDRAHAAS Movie

Popular NRI producer and artiste, Dr Haranath Policherla produced a film called ''Alex'' in which he himself played the hero. Again he produced a film ''Chandrahaas'' under the direction of Sivashakti Datta. Though Dr Haranath was in a big position as a doctor in the US, he came to India with an interest on acting and started producing films on his own. On the occasion of the release of his latest film ''Chandrahas'', he had a chitchat with Indiaglitz. Here are the excerpts:
What are the specialities of 'Chandrahas' film?

The story in itself is something special. The story was prepared on the sword gifted by Tuljapur Bhavani Mata to Chatrapati Sivaji. The entire story revolves around the sword.

Can you please explain in detail about the subject?

'Chandrahas' is the name of the sword gifted by Tuljapur Bhavani Mata to Chatrapati Sivaji. We adopted the same name as the title for our film.

What is the relation between the sword and the story of the film? What we mean to say is how do you do the title justification?

That sword is very powerful. If such a sword falls in the hands of any person what would be the consequences? If they are gentleman, it will be okay. If they are crooked, the consequences would be unimaginable. If it happens would be the result is the subject of the movie.

Why did you choose Krishna alone for Sivaji role?

If you watch Krishna in Sivaji's get-up you just get a feel that he was born to don that role alone. I watched him in the get-up twice in his earlier films and I strongly believed that no other artiste could do justice to the role other than him. His character would appear in a flashback episode. I really feel very fortunate when he agreed to play the role in our film. Really he is a great artiste.

Why did you choose Sivashakti Datta as director for the movie?

It is he who prepared the story. I sincerely felt that he alone could do justice to the subject and others can't explain what all that is in his mind on the screen. When he was narrating the story, I could visualize the scenes just in front of me. We trusted him totally and handed him over the responsibility of directing the film. He too did cent per cent justice to his job.

Briefly tell us about the music in the film…

There is no need for a special mention about Keeravani and his music at this hour and stage. The music scored by him is the highlight of the film. Moreover, the director of the film Sivashakti Datta is none other than Keeravani's father. Keeravani always pays obeisance to his father as the first teacher for him. Hence, he gave fantastic music for the film and paid his 'Guru Dakshina' to his father. Moreover, Sivashakti Datta had taken the responsibility of providing story, screenplay, dialogues, lyrics and direction for our movie.

Tell us about the lyrics, tunes and songs in the film?

Audio was a big hit. All the duets evoked good response. Likewise, the song choreographed on Sivaji character, 'Tribhuvana Janani… Tribhuvanaavani…' is quite heart touching. Performance of Krishna, music by Keeravani, and the directorial ability of Sivashakti Datta would enthrall the audiences. There is a very good scope for re-recording in the film and Keeravani scored more points on this count. The re-recording elevated the mood of each scene.

What about action scenes in the flick?

All the fights in the film were composed by Fight Master Horseman Babu. I could not believe my eyes while watching the rushes whether I only did those fights or not. He did a tremendous job in this aspect. All the fights were composed in a marvelous way.

What are the other specialities of the movie?

Here I need to mention an important point in the subject. There was a wrong notion among the people that Sivaji is against Muslims. But we proved that it is a wrong notion. Sivaji's knight (Senapati) is a Muslim called Hyder Ali. At least 30 per cent of his army were Muslims.

Tell us about your role in the film?

I am the 16th heir of Sivaji's clan. Astha Singhal paired up with me in the female lead. Abbas is playing another important role in the movie. Besides, Puneet Issar, Sarat Babu, Sujata, Brahmanandam, Venumadhav, Sana and others are in the cast. We had a wide debate on the unity of Hindus and Muslims in the movie. It is a very good socio-fantasy movie which could be watched by the entire family by sitting together. I wish the audiences would bless our effort and make the film a big hit. Good day!

The programme was held on June 30 and Gangadhar rendered several songs sung by Ghantasala, which include several devotional numbers and Annamayya Keerthans. In between the songs, he rendered slokas from Bhagavad Gita along with their meaning.

There was a standing ovation when he sung 'Jaya Krishna Mukunda Muraari…' in 'Panduranga Mahatmyam' and 'Siva Shankaree…' in 'Jagadekaveeruni Katha'. The Atlanta programme is a first step in this regard. The late Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao had sung only 108 slokas out of 701 in Bhagavad Gita. He was unable to render all of them due to ill-health. But in a bid to fulfil his ambition, I am planning to sing all the 18 chapters in Bhagavad Gita along with its meaning. All the 18 chapters would be provided in 18 separate CDs and cassettes. Now I am on the job and awaiting cooperation and sponsors for the yagna.'

Who are True friends!!!

From reel life to real life, Superstar Rajinikanth and his friend Raja Bahadur share a true story of friendship, sacrifice and commitment. The two worked together in the 1970s in the same bus, where the superstar was the conductor and Raja the driver.

Rajinikanth’s style caught a film director’s eye who urged him to complete an acting course. But those were tough times. It was Raja who helped him financially and sent him to Chennai. And as they say, the rest is history.

But the change in status has not changed the hearts of friends. Not forgetting that it was his friend’s help that made him the superstar, Rajinikanth still visits Raja Bahadur’s house and spends time with him. Raja is full of praise for his friend’s simplicity.

The two spent 10 days together before Sivaji’s release and visited many famous temples in Karnataka, of course in disguise.

Raja says that the actor was very apprehensive about Sivaji, but he assured Rajni that it would be a great success. Though Rajinikanth has offered to help his friend monetarily, Raja has consistently refused, as he values his friendship more than anything.

Shriya on a roll

People barely remember her.But now, Shriya Saran is a rage in India, especially in the South where she has given blockbusters such as Santhosham and Nuvve Nuvve. Among the Hindi speaking masses in the North, she became a known face after Ra jnikanth’s Sivaji: The Boss hit the screen to a record initial. Shriya plays Rajnikanth’s wife in it. And now one can instantly recall her Fair and Lovely advertisement in which she is a newlywed woman loved by her husband because of her ‘fair’ face!

The 25-year-old from Hardwar now appears opposite Emraan Hashmi in Vikram Bhatt’s Awarapan released recently.

A soft-spoken Shriya comes across as one who speaks her mind even at the cost of her reputation and one who is quick to admit her follies.

“I accepted Awarapan because I was convinced of its strong storyline, the director and the reputed production house. They have a history of making sensitive films that have become hits. Their female characters are well etched. After the success of my films in the South, I needed a film that could parallel my position there. I think I have made the right decision.”

Shriya plays a Muslim girl, Aaliya, who belongs to Jodhpur. “She is brought up in a value-based family but forgets her values. She talks of her strong belief in God but believes in simplicity and ‘freedom’. That way it is a complex character.”

To play Aaliya, she had to work on her Urdu. “I thought Urdu was easy but it is not. I was given the script four months in advance. So I had time to work on it,” she recalls.

This disciple of Shovana Narayan, whose dance skills were noticed in her music video “Thirakti Kyon Hawa,” wants to work in a dance musical. “I want to bring back the charm of classical dance to the Indian screen but there is hardly any one making pure dance films these days,” she says.

She is different

What makes Shriya different from her counterparts is philanthropic work. Shankar’s Robot to rock Bollywood

Shankar might come back with a bigger bang after Sivaji. With grander plans for the dream factory, Shankar seems ready to set Bollywood on fire with a universal plot that might make a big blip on the Hollywood radar.

A sci-fiction with a fetching title, Robot might have Hrithik Roshan’s fans asking for more. The story doing the rounds in industry circles is that Hrithik might don the lead role if his dates match with that of the other ‘big’ players on the cards.

Kollywood sceptics who pooh poohed the idea of a science fiction (Shankar has been talking about this project for a while now) may soon sing another tune.

If you were staggered by the extravaganza called Sivaji - The Boss, rumoured to have cost Rs 60 crore, then prepare yourself to be awed as the next project may cost three times more.

“Such figures are chicken feed given the fact that corporates are entering movies in a big way,” said an actor.

“And with Hollywood opening up to Indian talent with projects such as Shantaram, there is plenty of market potential,” felt a trade analyst in Mumbai.

The film may call for plenty of CGI (Computer Graphics Imaging), but then Shankar underwent his trial by fire when he shot Sivaji. India has proved her mettle in the field of animation and digital effects so Shankar might have no qualms about his latest venture, said an industry source.

However, the director, who went abroad for a well-earned holiday a week before the release of Sivaji on June 15, is expected back in Chennai in the next couple of days. The question is will Shankar bring greater fame to Kollywood with his Robot?

“YAMADONGA” IS A STYLISH FILM !

Telugu movie “Yamadonga”, one of the most eagerly awaited premium product of Tollywood is all set to come before the audience very shortly. This film is by far the costliest movie made so far in the Telugu film industry.

Biggest indoor set so far:

This film boasts of the biggest indoor set erected so far in the whole of Asia and incidentally is the costliest individual set. This Yamalokam set was erected over a period of 90 days with 300 workers working on the set day and night. The magnitude of the set was so much that it took almost another one and half month to dismantle the same. This set was erected in Ramoji film city and the number of shooting days in this set was 42. Apart from this the other sets erected for four songs, the set of the hero house and the heroine house are also done with lot of richness and grand taste. Added to these grandeur sets, the graphics of this film are also bound to a visual treat to the eyes of the audience. The producers of this film have ensured qualities of high standard and are very confident that the film will be on par with Hollywood standards and they are confident that this film will be watched even by the foreigners and Hindi speaking audience too, purely because of the fact that the plot is a very interesting one in the form of a socio fantasy subject.

Daler Mahendi song:
The production house has not compromised on any issues and wants to make a mark in the international market. The highlights of the film are far too many with music being the first amongst them. The audio of this film comprises of 6 songs and 4 bit songs and is getting release in the 1st week of July. One of the song is sung by Daler Mehendi and one of them by NTR and Mamata Mohandas.

Superior graphics work:

A team of 80 professionals spread over three outsourcing houses spearheaded the EFX are working on the graphics and the production house is confident of coming out with the most impressive visuals. Some of the work was handled by Mr. Adel Eddelli a professional from Iran who has contributed heavily in the Hollywood films too.

Songs with 7 heroines:

Another highlight of the film is that it is hatrick combinatino of director S.S.Rajamouli and NTR whose two earlier films Student No.1 and Simhadri were big blockbusters in Tollywood. Also the film by far has a large starcast in the form of biggest names in Tollywood. Padmasri Dr. M.Mohan Babu is playing an equally important role as the hero and is bound to create waves with his performance as lord Yama. Apart from this, the film has seven heroines namely Kushboo, Priyamani, Mamata Mohandas, Rambha, Preeti Jhingania, Navneeth Kaur and Archana. Probably this the only film in telugu where the hero shakes a leg with all the above heroines (excluding Kushboo) which is bound to bring variety and spice to this film. The other important stars are Brahmanandam, Ali, MS Narayana, Raghu babu, Jayaprakash, Naresh, Rajeev Kanakala etc. The role of the villain is donned by Narendra Jha who played the role of Baji rao in Chatrapati.

Excellent lighting by Senthilkumar:

The excellent art work by popular art director Mr Anand Sai is well complimented by the cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar who has been given a free hand by the production house and the director to light up the sets in a very tasteful way. And though the cost of the film had gone up substantially because of his excellent lighting schemes, the producers have no qualms about it as it is finally enhancing the richness of the film.

Director SS Rajamouli who has given 5 successive blockbusters, carries a major responsibility on his shoulders as he has to ensure that this film has to be better than all his previous films. The expectations are very high and the entire team of Yamadonga has no doubts that he will deliver it in style. This film is bound to satisfy one and all as it has universal appeal with lot of entertainment stuffed into it.

This film is presented by Rama Rajamouli and produced by Cheri and Urmila under the banner of Viswamitra Creations which happens to be the own banner of SS Rajamouli.

Great COMEDIANS !

If you think the comedians who play all those innocent characters on screen are the same in real life, you would be sadly mistaken. These comedians are worldly wise and very intelligent. They are also very miserly when it comes to spending money – even if it is meant to promote their own sons!

This fact was realized the hard way by some directors. Some of the young director approached Tollywood comedians Brahmanandam, MS Narayana and Kondavalasa with their stories. We all know that the three comedians are keen to make theirs sons as heroes. However, the veterans’ also know how risky it is to produce a film. So they are all looking for producers to launch the careers of their sons.

Even though they have made a lot of money, none of them is keen to invest even one rupee in the film in which their sons are the heroes. wordily wise or does it shows their confidence in the abilities of their children?

“CHIRUTA” CREATES HISTORY !

It is a wonder in the Telugu film industry’s history. It will definitely remain a record and history in the Telugu film history.”Chiruta” directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by Chalasani Aswanidutt on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies in which Ram Charan Teja, son of Padma Bhushan, Mega Star Chiranjeevi is making his debut is getting ready to create new records.

Already the audio companies had helped the film to create a record by offering Rs 1 crore for the audio of a novice’s film. Generally the distribution and exhibition rights of the Nizam area would go for Rs 5 crores to Rs 7 crores for the top heroes. That was the top rate so far as per records.

However, it is reliably learnt that the same price for ‘Chirutha’ has gone up to Rs 8 crore as the distributors and producers are vying to bag the distribution rights.

This is yet another record in the Telugu film industry. If the film is creating records even before its release, what would be the range of this film after its release would be definitely a wonder. Isn’t it?
