Cheating case against Kushboo is in Court Today

The advocate K Balu, in his notice, said Kushboo, while speaking in a seminar recently, had criticised the warrant issued against her when defamation cases were filed against her two years ago, “for casting aspersions on Tamil women”.
Madras High Court adjourned to today, July 9, an alleged cheating case against popular actor Kushboo.
When the case came up for hearing before Mr Justice K N Basha, the judge asked the prosecution whether it could be referred to the Mediation centre as it was a civil case.
After the prosecution promised to get back to the court, the judge posted the case to July nine.
The petition was filed by one Vargheese, the father-in-law of Kushboo’s brother Abdullah, alleging that the actor had cheated him to the tune of Rs 18 lakh, and sought a direction to the police to file a case against her.
Mr Varghese had sent Rs 18 lakh from abroad in dollars to Kushboo, to be given to Mr Abdullah for producing a Kannada movie, five years back. Last year, Mr Varghese had preferred a complaint with the Central Crime Branch that Kushboo had not returned the money to him and had not honoured her promise of registering her flat in his name in lieu of the money.
He wanted the CCB police to register a case and investigate the matter.
Mr Vargheese had moved the court, alleging that the CCB had failed to register a case against the actor and sought a direction to the police to investigate his complaint.
