Telugu Actor Vijay Chander donated 14 acres for old age homes

Dr. TS Vijay Chander, popularly known for being the best in portraying Jesus, Shiridi Sai, has today donated 14 acres of prime land on the outskirts of Hyderabad for constructing rehabilitation centers to the destitute and old age homes on10/6/2007. This is announced today at a press conference held at Film Chamber building, Hyderabad.

Of this, two acres each had been donated to the Movie Artistes' Association and Telugu Film Directors' Association. These two organizations which hold the stamp as cultural societies would take up the welfare of the old members of their respective associations.

Vijay Chander's "Karunamayudu" (1978) became an epoch-making film all over India, which influenced the spread of Christianity in a big way. This film got dubbed into many Indian and foreign languages. Dr.Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Murali Mohan, Nagababu and SV Krishna Reddy took part in the press meet.
