Latest Interview with Bellam Konda Suresh Producer of Sivaji

Bellamkonda Suresh, producer of films like Lakshminarasimha, Naa.. Autograph,..etc., is striking back with Rajni Kanth one the most anticipated Hero of Asia. Rajani Kanth starring Sivaji which is to be released on 15th June with 700 prints. He is presenting the film in Telugu. There is lot of anticipation on this film. Already, Nellore is sold out for the first 10 days. Similar is the case with areas where advance booking is open. The ticket prices are getiing hiked at the counters. Expectsations are very high on this film.

The following are from his latest interview

How do you feel presenting one the highest budget movie?
It is a 50 crore movie. I would rather call it craziest movie than calling it a highest budget movie. The expectations have surpassed even that of Baba or Chandramukhi. I just played my part and tried my level best to get good entertainment to Telugu audience. You will certainly see superb results.

of the film is delayed. What are the reasons? Is it financial?Do you think there will be financial problems when we are doing a film with a superstar hero and number one director?
It is delayed only by two months. Delay is very common in big ventures. Everybody knows, director Shankar will not compromise for quality. There is lot of high quality graphics in the film. Rajnikanth's daughter personally took lot of care.

must have faced severe competition in acquring the rights of Sivaji. Isn't it?Very true. But, I don't want to comment anything about it. No more questions on that.

Is there any message in Sivaji?
I would reveal the story line if I tell you that. In short, Rajnikanth is a rich NRI. He comes to India and takes up social service by giving free education to the poor. He wages war on the concept of donations in colleges. He lands in problems because of that. How he fights and helps the talented is the subject. Shankar's treatment makes this a delightful and wonderful experience.

After "Naa Autograph", there is almost three years gap in your career.
Yes. It was kind of an isolation and very difficult time for me. However, this gap helped me a lot. I have learnt the art of film making. I entered the industry as a producer in a hurry. After getting into the pits, I have also learnt how to come out of it. A costly experience! It can be learnt only by experience.

How did you enter the film industry?
I had no good education background. I had to do something to earn livelihood and picked this field. I came to the film industry as a junior artist in August of 1984. However, it was a tough going. I became a production executive and later a producer.

Do you have any ambitions?
I have a strong ambition. It is still abstract. For now, I want to do movies with all the heroes and directors in the industry.

What kind of association you have with superstar Rajnikanth?
Not very close. He is the superstar. I met him only recently after the completion of Telugu version. Rajanikanth was expecting me to be old but was shocked when he saw me. He even suggested that I should give new photos to the media as one of the interviews published an old photo of mine.

What about Shankar?
Honestly, I met him for the first time with my proposal. He Okayed it without second thought. My sincere thanks to him.

What are your future projects?
I dont talk about my projects until things are confirmed. Even though I know the value of publicity, I am never in favor of false publicity. Experience taught me to announce a project only when you are about to launch it.

What is your opinion about the present day's filmmaking?
It is not such a healthy scenario. Several producers are incurring huge losses because they leave everything to the director and others. It should not be like that. Producer's involvement is must in his movie. It doesn't mean he has to poke his nose in all matters but he should be involved. He should know what is going on with his film. But the scenario here is otherwise. I am sure that any movie without the involvement of producer is a failure.

How do you go about selecting movies?
Good subject is compulsory. Without subject, even the most deadly or powerful combinations would not work. I don't believe in setting crazy combinations. Also, I want my films to be referred to as Bellamkonda's movie like how they refer to movies with hero and directors names.

A very strong ambition. But he did not give out much details and said it is still abstract. For now, he wants to make movies with all heroes and directors in the industry.
