An African safari for Vikram's TAMIL Film

African locales will replace Tamil filmmakers' favourite shooting venues in Western Europe and Australia in the forthcoming film 'Kandasamy', featuring popular star Vikram.

Susi Ganesan, dirctor of the mega-budget film, has chosen locations in three African countries, after a 35-day long tour of the continent.

He told the media after his return from the tour: 'So far Australia, Switzerland and the UK have provided the preferred settings for sequences of Tamil films. We wanted to shoot such scenes for our film in some other countries.'

Ganesan has identified locations in wildlife rich Kenya and Tanzania for sequences that would be visual treats for the audience. Shooting in these venues will start in August.

'Kandasamy' will be the next big film for versatile Vikram after the much-awaited 'Bheema', with screen scorcher Trisha as his heroine.

It is learnt that Vikram had put on weight for his oversized role in 'Bheema'. His publicity representatives are, however, not saying if the actor, known to be very selective about his roles, is on a crash diet for 'Kandasamy'.
